Tools to find causes of performance issues and lameness
Dr Roth will perform a physical exam, watch your horse in motion, and then perform a flexion test to assess where your horse is sore.
During a PPE a very detailed physical exam is performed along with a lameness exam. Often a PPE includes radiographs of the front feet, hocks and stifles. Blood work and drug screening can be included or can be pulled and held for 3 months. Each PPE can be tailored to the horses and buyers needs.
Radiographs can be taken anywhere, they will be uploaded to a cloud and you will be emailed a link to view and/or download the images.
Ultrasound exams are available anywhere and are used to assess soft tissue structures. They will be uploaded to a cloud and you will be emailed a link to view or download the images.
Athletic Equine offers stall side testing for PPID aka Cushing's disease.
We offer a wide range of treatment modalities
Dr. Roth will use your horses history and clinical presentation to determine which therapy is the right choice. Common joint therapies are the use of corticosteroids and HA (hyaluronic acid). We also offer polyacrylamide gels and biologics.
We have a variety of products that use your horses own cells to help heal and reduce inflammation. They can be used in joints or in soft tissue injuries. We offer Prostride, PRP and IRAP. Additionally we offer Renovo which is an acellular, cryopreserved liquid allograft derived from equine amniotic tissues
Shockwave is a high-energy focused sound wave therapy system. It is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment that is used to relieve pain, and reduce inflammation. We use PulseVet which is the leading brand and offers several trodes to treat different areas.
